Adam cigarettes were made by Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company. The king-size was introduced in 1969, while the 100s was brought out in 1972. What made the cigarette stand out was the fact that the king-size and 100 were wrapped in brown paper. (A white paper version of the king size was also available.)

The slogan used in print advertising was:

Brown makes the difference. The special brown wrapper actually adds to Adam's natural mellow flavor. Adam. It's a good taste to get back to.
